Free music e-books!

September 2nd, 2008

I’ve brought up a couple e-books before, but thought it was worth mentioning them again here. New Music Strategies has a great one, titled “The 20 Things You Must Know About Music Online”. It’s a 96-page pdf file that contains some really great stuff.

The next one is from Derek Sivers, founder of CD Baby…another great read, especially for those who are a bit newer to the music business world.

Derek Sivers Sells CD Baby

August 8th, 2008

So, you probably all know by now that Derek Sivers decided to sell CD Baby to Disc Makers. It seemed that many indie artists were a bit alarmed by this, but if you read about it on Derek’s blog, you’ll see that he hardly has been at CD Baby since ‘02. So, there obviously was - and still is - a great team there to help all of us indies out.

So, no worries - CD Baby should continue to thrive under the direction of Tony Van Veen and Disc Makers. Derek is moving on to other things, you can check them out here.
