Organize and the music will follow

I’m in the midst of re-organizing my home studio. My home studio doesn’t consist of much, and has essentially been the same for several years - a Yamaha SY77 synth, a Dell PC, and whatever other old school sounds I can channel into my computer. However, I like to think that I get a lot of mileage out of the tools available to me.
You may have read that I’m currently working on some new music, a project tentatively titled Antarctica: The Last Continent. I was there this past January (Summertime there!), and I’m trying to express what I saw and how I felt musically. Sounds easy - just layer some synth pads, maybe some string accompaniment, etc….but I’ve found that my layout was no longer conducive to efficient composing. So, I’m cleaning things up a bit in the studio. It’s amazing what a little organization can do.
Once you de-clutter your workspace, it’s a lot easier to get down to business - your mind de-clutters as well.
